Take your boots off at the back door. That one habit does more for carpet in Sealy than anything we can do once a year, and we say that as people who clean carpet for a living.
Sealy is the largest city in Austin County, a straight run west of Katy on I-10, and plenty of homes in and around town sit on acreage or along farm roads. Newer subdivisions like Hunters Crossing, Westward Pointe and Cane Crossing Estates have filled in too, but even there the backyard is often dirt and grass with a dog running through it. All of that ends up on the floor sooner or later.
What comes in from outside
Mud
After a rain, mud gets tracked in and dries into the carpet as a brownish trail between the back door and the kitchen. Once it's dry, most of the loose stuff vacuums out. What stays is clay-colored staining down in the fibers, and that needs a pre-treatment before it lets go.
Dust
Dry spells are the other half. Fine dust comes off gravel driveways and plowed fields, sifts in around doors and windows, and slowly turns a whole room a shade duller. It also carries pollen indoors, which is a big reason allergy season seems to follow some people inside.
Our approach on Sealy floors
Your technician looks over the floors with you and tells you the price before anything gets wet. Mud trails and entry paths get pre-treated first. Then a soap-free, carbonated solution lifts the dirt so it can be pulled back out with very little water. Carpets dry fast, usually within an hour or so, and there's no sticky film left behind for the next pair of boots to grind dirt into.
Older farmhouses sometimes hide good hardwood under the rugs. We clean area rugs right there in the house, no pickup, and give finished wood a gentle, pH-neutral wood floor clean with no sanding. The recliner by the back door tends to collect the same dust and feed-store grime as the floor, so it's worth adding upholstery cleaning to the ticket while we're out. The carpet cleaning page covers everything else.
A word of honesty about old stains. Red mud that's been ground in and left for months can leave a faint shadow even after a thorough clean. We'll tell you up front if we think one of those is going to stick around.
Getting us out to Sealy
Sealy is the far west end of the area we cover, so same-day visits are less likely out here than in Katy. Calling a day or two ahead works best. The number is 281-789-8998, and the coupons page lists the current deals, including three rooms for $88. We will happily leave our own shoes on the porch.
